[News] Vietnam painting exhibition tours Italy
An exhibition featuring nearly 50 artworks by Vietnamese artists on diverse materials, including lacquer, silk, do paper, fabric and newspaper opened on March 30 in the Italian city of Florence, according to the Vietnamplus newswire.
The exhibition, called Mot thoang Viet Nam (a glimpse of Vietnam), is organized by the Italian embassy in collaboration with the Lotus Gallery in Ho Chi Minh City.
The paintings reflect the beauty of Vietnam’s people, nature, and landscapes in different aspects.
At the opening ceremony on March 30, 83-year-old painter Mai Long impressed local audiences with his work on silk. The artist, who drew a Vietnamese landscape, said that the artworks displayed reflect the Vietnamese people’s dream of peaceful life.
Vietnam's Ambassador in Italy, Dang Khanh Thoai, said that the exhibition was one of the important cultural events preparing to celebrate the 40thanniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2013.
After the exhibition closes in Florence on April 6, Mot thoang Viet Nam will move to Venice from April 12-18 and Rome at the end of the month
